What is 8Teen Art & Cultural Center
The concept behind 8Teen Art & Cultural Center (The Center) is to provide an arts, entertainment and coffee/internet cafe venue all in one place in one of San Diego's established art districts, North Park. The Center provides a fine art exhibition gallery space, live entertainment venue, arts & crafts workshops, dance class space, arcade game room, internet cafe and private party rental space.
"The Center" is a place where
- the entire family can come for good wholesome fun,
- groups can have meetings
- up and coming local bands can get experience on our great stage with a professional sound engineer,
- San Diego's visual artists can exhibit their work in a down to earth venue, and
- the weary work a day person can just to stop relax on a big overstuffed couch and have a latte or smoothie and let the day unwind.
Why the name "8Teen"?
8Teen Art & Cultural Center (The Center) the use of 8Teen in our name reflects our purpose and goals to help the community. 18% of our profits are donated to assist in establishing a “House of Hope”, a short-term emergency shelter for homeless young adults 18-24.
